During a ceremony at The National Maritime Museum, the team were recognised as ‘Heritage Heroes’ for the efforts of the volunteer team in creating Lostwithiel’s new town trails. The small team of David Guiterman, Michelle Nineham, Sarah Preece, John Scott and Phil Wisdom worked with people from Lostwithiel and beyond to create digital and physical trails that celebrate the town’s history, environment, culture and language. At the ceremony’s finale, the team were delighted to also be awarded the top award of the evening, ‘Spirit of the Awards’, recognising the team’s ‘outstanding connection to rootedness and connectedness, community impact, collaboration, values-led practice, leadership and inspiration’. Judged by the Cornwall and West Devon Mining World Heritage Site Team, the project was also acknowledged for its accessibility and long-term sustainable design. The team are very grateful to all those who supported the project, particularly Julie Tamblin, Christine Walton, Iteracy Web Design and Leon Toumi and Marisa Moore of Bodmin Creative Studio.
