Lostwithiel Heritage Buildings Project
Wednesday 18th September 2024
Based on an article from the The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Shared Prosperity Fund Website
"Lostwithiel Town Council is leading a project which will result in capital works that regenerate heritage buildings to increase the vitality of the town centre for future residents and visitors.
Lostwithiel’s historic town centre is a conservation area with three listed buildings (Taprell House, Edgcumbe House and The Guildhall) owned by Lostwithiel Town Council.
The detailed feasibility study will assess these unique heritage buildings – it will build on earlier studies, develop a business case and high-level operating cost plan for each proposed option. A Quantity Surveyor will be used to produce measured building surveys and drawings.
Public consultation and engagement will be used to gather the views of a true cross-section of the community.
The Council anticipates solution(s) that are financially viable and promote the regeneration of the town and local economy whilst being considerate and proactive with respect to the climate crisis; and with the involvement of the community."
Lostwithiel Town Council have been awarded £22,319 to undertake the project. The invitation to tender for the work, which closed on 18th September 2024, may be viewed via this link.
