Update on Plans for Edgcumbe House

The following statement was published by Lostwithiel Town Council yesterday (1st June).

Lostwithiel Town Council is delighted to announce the appointment of Le Page Architects to deliver the Pre - feasibility stage of the project to restore and convert Edgcumbe House in the heart of Lostwithiel. Le Page Architects will be ably assisted by RIO (Real Ideas Organisation). Both firms bring extensive experience in pre - feasibility studies to the project.

The Council and Members of the Edgcumbe House Working Party are excited by the opportunity to work with consultants of this calibre with such a proven track record. All parties involved in the project wish to establish a financially sustainable future for the building. Community consultation will be an integral part of the process and all events will be announced and advertised as soon as the dates become available. More information about previous conservation and regeneration projects carried out by Le Page Architects may be found on their website.    Real Ideas Organisation have been involved in a number of regeneration projects in Devon and Cornwall and were successful in securing a grant of £1.75 million to revitalise  Devonport Guildhall as a social enterprise hub and community venue.

An Open Meeting to discuss the future of Edgcumbe House will be held on 13th July (re-arranged from  6th July) at the Community Centre. More details will be supplied when available.
