Trewithen Dairy wins gold for its new spread

Thursday 9th October 2014

Lostwithiel based business Trewithen Dairy is celebrating after winning Gold in The Grocer New Product Awards for its Spreadable butter, which was launched in January this year.

It won the category for Butters and Spreads, beating major national brand Clover. The awards recognise outstanding innovation across the grocery industry.

The Spreadable butter joins a range which includes milk, butter, yoghurts and Cornish clotted cream. It was taste-tested by 50 consumers and then assessed by a panel of judges against a range of criteria.

Other Gold winners from this year's awards included Taylors of Harrogate, Ella’s Kitchen and Cadbury’s.

Last year Trewithen Dairy won Gold in the same awards for its Cornish clotted cream.
