The proposal is part of a countywide rollout aimed at making built-up areas safer for pedestrians, reducing traffic noise, and encouraging more walking and cycling.
Review the Plans (Document SN407)
The full details, maps, and specific road exemptions are published in the official Traffic Regulation Order under Document Reference: EDG2166-SN407. Cornwall Council states that lowering speeds in residential areas significantly reduces the severity of accidents and helps create quieter, healthier neighborhoods.
How to Have Your Say
Residents and business owners can review the maps and submit their feedback, support, or objections online through the council's "Let's Talk Cornwall" portal.
All responses must reference document SN407 and be submitted before the consultation period officially closes on Friday, July 31, 2026.
More details about the scheme are available on the Cornwall Council Website.
