IDEAL DAY FAMILY BREWERY
Ideal Day Family Brewery, founded by James Rylance, has relocated from Saint Mellion to Lostwithiel, This move brings the brewery closer to the Rylance family and provides greater independence. Previously located at Crocadon Farm, the brewery will now operate from the Old Milk factory on the banks of the River Fowey.
James aims to maintain a small, independent business and has plans to introduce cask beer. The move prioritizes work-life balance and family. Follow Ideal Day's progress as they move into their new home on facebook
CASTLE BREWERY
Castle Brewery in Lostwithiel won two gold medals at the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) National Beer Awards held in Liverpool on March 20, 2025.
Their New Season, a Belgian Pale Ale, won gold in the Bottled/Canned Continental Ale category, and Gorse, a mixed fermentation ale, won gold in the Bottled/Canned Sour and Wild Ale category.
The brewery have also launched a new brand called Coldframe Brewery to focus on continental-inspired beers using local ingredients.
