Lostwithiel Town Team named ‘Heritage Heroes’ Finalists for 2026 Cornwall Heritage Awards

The Lostwithiel Town Team is delighted to announce that theirTown Trail project has been shortlisted for the prestigious ‘Heritage Heroes’ award at the 2026 Cornwall Heritage Awards. The winners will be revealed during a gala ceremony on 19th May 2026.
The ‘Heritage Heroes’ category celebrates volunteer-led initiatives that go above and beyond preserving local identity. The Lostwithiel Town Trail achieved this by transforming the town’s streets into a "living museum," using a mix of traditional signage and interactive digital content to tell the story of our ancient stannary town.
The Town Trail has produced a significant impact on the community, including:
- Educational Engagement: Providing a vital outdoor classroom for local schools.
- Economic Support: Driving increased footfall to Lostwithiel’s independent shops and historic landmarks.
- Collaborative Spirit: Bringing together local historians, artists, and tech volunteers.
The Cornwall Heritage Awards are the Duchy’s premier celebration of cultural preservation. On May 19th, Lostwithiel will join fellow nominees to celebrate the passion and dedication that keep Cornish history alive.
