Lostwithiel School win at Bodmin Swimming Gala

Tuesday 30th June 2015

On Tuesday 30th June, Lostwithiel School took a group of 20 boys and girls from years 3-6 along to Bodmin Dragon Centre for the annual Bodmin swimming gala.

In last year’s event we came so close to taking the title by finishing in the runners up spot so we were looking to going one better this time around. In a very competitive line up consisting of 8 schools including hot favourites St.Petrocs we got off to a flying start and by the half way point of the gala we found ourselves occupying 1st spot by just a single point ahead of the favourites.

Taking this lead in to the second half of the gala which included a vast set of medleys all the boys and girls were extremely focused on not letting their lead slip and every one of them put in absolutely astonishing performances.

After all 16 events it was a nerve racking wait as the final scores were tallied up and we were overjoyed to hear Lostwithiel had not only won but ended up winning by a whole 10 points clear. Well done to every single one of you who competed and made the watching parents and the whole school very proud!

Also a big thank you to all the volunteer drivers for giving up their time.
