Lostwithiel Dickensian Evening - the true spirit of Christmas

Friday 18th November 2016

Christmas comes early to Lostwithiel – with the annual Lostwithiel Dickensian Evening on December 8th .

This is the busiest and jolliest night of the year in Lostwithiel and this year’s programme of events pulls out all the stops.

A fabulous lantern parade through the streets launches the event, followed by a unique rendition of the Angel Anthem - a song composed and performed by local schoolchildren especially for Dickensian Evening.

Everyone is invited to loosen the larynx and join Lost in Song for traditional carol singing – part of an evening of music, performance and storytelling throughout the town.

Christmas shopping becomes a joy with arts and craft stalls, a Vintage Fair and late night openings all over town where traders dressed in traditional Dickensian costumes will welcome you in for a warming cup of cheer.

There’s no shortage of Christmas food and drink. Colourful advent windows and Christmas trees all add to the atmosphere and no Dickensian Evening would be complete without Santa himself, who will be getting in practice for his big day.

Thursday December 8th at 6pm is the date and time for your diary.

Arrive early and park on the edge of town - or better still come by train and avoid the traffic.
