International Women’s Day Exhibition
Celebrating Women, Craft and Collective Voices in Lostwithiel
Elaine Foster-Gandey Art is holding a special exhibition celebrating women artists, creativity and community, opening on Friday 6th March to coincide with International Women’s Day.
Private View
The exhibition opens with a Private View on Friday 6th March, 5–8pm, featuring participating artists talking about their work alongside local female poets sharing their work. All are welcome. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
Regular Opening
The exhibition runs from Saturday 7th March to Friday 20th March,
Open:
Wednesday–Friday: 10am–5pm
Saturday: 10am–3pm
The Artists
The show brings together a group of women artists working across textiles, performance and mixed media, including:
- Elaine Foster-Gandey - Textile and Multi Media Artist
- Rosie James – An Artist working primarily in textiles
- Cas Holmes – One of the UK's most renowned textile artists
- Jenni Dutton – Multidisciplinary artist/activist
- Sue Spence– A self-taught textile and mixed media artist
- Denise Watts - An expert in the traditional art of lace making
- W1 Cornwall - A warm, friendly inclusive organisation, open to all women
This exhibition celebrates women’s voices, shared making, and the power of creativity to bring people together. Everyone is warmly invited to attend the private view, workshops, and exhibition throughout its run.
Alongside contemporary textile works, the exhibition will also feature vintage banners and artefacts from W1 Cornwall.
