Drivers and residents in Lostwithiel are being advised to plan ahead as a major road resurfacing project is set to get underway at the end of the month.
Engineering contractor Cormac has confirmed that Liddicoat Road and Queen Street will be closed overnight starting Tuesday, 30th June. The essential maintenance work will take place on weeknights between 19:00 and 04:00, and the scheme is expected to take up to three weeks to complete.
The resurfacing will progress in phases, starting at Restormel Bridge and moving toward Edgcumbe Road.
Strict Parking Restrictions in Force
To allow the work to take place safely, a strict Clearway Parking Zone will be enforced along the entire length of the site during working hours. All designated parking bays within the zone will be suspended. Any vehicles left parked in the signed areas between 19:00 and 04:00 will be towed, and recovery charges will apply.
Minimising Disruption
Acknowledging the challenges of night-time construction, Cormac has stated that teams will aim to complete the loudest operations as early in the evening as possible to minimize disruption to nearby residents.
-
Local Access: Marshals will be stationed on-site to assist residents and businesses who require local access.
-
Emergency Services: Full emergency access will be maintained at all times.
-
Through Traffic: Commuters and through traffic will be required to follow the signed diversion routes in place.
Cormac thank residents and motorists in advance for their patience and cooperation while these vital infrastructure improvements are completed.
