A Christmas exhibition celebrating creativity, beauty and the magic of the Handmade

This Christmas Elaine Foster-Gandey Art Gallery in Queen Street Lostwithiel invites visitors to discover Mark Making and Sacred Forms — a festive exhibition bringing together twelve artists in a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship and the magic of making.
Featuring paintings, ceramics, textiles, clothing and accessories, jewellery, print, drawings and sculpture, the exhibition explores the beauty of the handmade and the ways in which marks, patterns, symbols and forms connect us to the world around us.
At a time of year filled with light, ritual and reflection, the exhibition offers a moment to pause, discover and be inspired. Set within this intimate, artist-led gallery, visitors can experience an eclectic collection of contemporary art and find distinctive, meaningful gifts created by artists, each with their own story to tell.
The celebrations begin with a special Private View on Thursday 3 December, 5–7pm, featuring artist talks, poetry performances and more — an evening of creativity, conversation and festive wonder.
The exhibition opens to the public on Friday 4 December 2026 and runs until Thursday 24 December 2026 offering a warm welcome throughout the festive season.
Whether you’re looking for a unique Christmas gift, a moment of inspiration or simply a little artistic magic, Mark Making and Sacred Forms promises a celebration of imagination, connection and the enduring beauty of art.
