Where technology meets tradition
Castle Brewery was established in 2007 and Theo Corfield took it on in 2012. Theo had been brewing for over 20 years as a Craft Brewing Association member.
Taking on Castle and its line of established beers Theo has expanded the beers available using his own home grown hops and quality British malts. For the best flavour and freshness, the malts are bought in as whole grain and crushed just before brewing. Inspired by the local landscape foraged ingredients are also used for seasonal beers, such as elderflower and sloes.
The brewery is registered as an "Assured British Independent Craft Brewer", through SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers). To date the brewery has won a Gold and 2 Silver medals at the South West SIBA Maltings Competition and a Silver medal with ‘Lostwithiale’ in the SIBA Digital Competition, during the pandemic. Using German brewing technology, the beers are all carefully crafted and as a bonus, they are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
