  • Lostwithiel Dental Practice

Following statement taken from their website on 23rd March 2020:

"There is no higher priority to our team than the safety of our patients and staff. When visiting us at Carriage Works, we want you to feel confident that all health and safety measures are taken to prevent transmission of all disease, including Coronavirus.

We rely on many evidence-based resources for the latest information to keep our patients, our team and our community safe.

So, for now we have chosen to temporarily cease routine dental care at our practice, until we feel confident that we can provide our high-quality dentistry in a safe environment for our patients and our team.

The British Dental Association is now urging dentists to postpone elective procedures and only treat emergencies. All patients that have a routine appointment booked will be cancelled

We will continue to answer your dental questions or concerns during the crisis, and can be contacted on (01208 873290) or email enquiries@lostwithieldental.co.uk.We are also available to see our patients on an emergency only basis during this period.

If you feel that you have a dental emergency, please telephone the practice on the number above, and our receptionists will take some details from you and you will be contacted by one of our dentists, who will triage your dental needs over the phone. Please don’t be surprised when they ask you questions about your general well-being, recent travels or possible exposure to COVID-19.

As a patient, you have the right to a safe environment, and we would much rather be safe and proactive than reactive. Politics aside, it is evident that social distancing is the number one preventative method for slowing the spread of this virus, so we do not overwhelm our hospitals. Practising high quality dentistry in a safe environment has ALWAYS been at the forefront of preventative measures, and we would like it to stay that way.

We encourage you to follow the guidelines set out by the government to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to the practice very soon.

With best wishes

Finley Bason"

Message below posted on facebook 23rd March 2020:

To all our Kernow Veterinary Group Clients

Please note our new Covid 19 protocol for attending the surgery for appointments:

When you call the surgery to book you appointment the receptionist will ask a series of questions and then advise you to wait in your car upon arrival, please let them know the make, model & colour - once you arrive in the car park please call from your car to let us know you are here

The vet will come to the car, take a history, maintaining a 2m distance, the vet will then take your pet into the practice where a nurse will hold your pet while the vet examines them, whilst you remain in your car

Any medications will be brought out to you and the vet will return your pet to you

The vet will ask reception to call you to take payment over the phone by card - we will not be accepting any cash payments

We will be introducing a telemedicine service (via telephone/video call) soon, more details to follow soon - some post op checks can be done over the phone now with your clinic nurses

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation
