Cornwall Council is launching a series of drop-in events, starting in October, to gather public input for its new long-term development plan for the county.

The new Cornwall Local Plan, set to cover the period from 2030 to 2050, will replace the current plan adopted in 2016. It will set out rules on what can be built and where, covering housing, employment, retail, energy generation, schools, transport, and green infrastructure.

The council is asking residents to share their views on their local area and suggest changes they would like to see over the 20-year period. The plan must also address an aging population, climate change, nature recovery, and economic levelling up.

Sarah Preece, who as well as being our local councillor is also Cornwall  council's cabinet member for planning, said  "These sessions are just the beginning of a series of conversations we will be having with different people and organisations across Cornwall over the coming months as our work on preparing the plan progresses."

A drop-In session is being held in Lostwithiel on 22nd October Find out more in the Events Section of our website. More information about the Cornwall Local Plan is available on the Cornwall Council website
