Lostwithiel Community Centre and Town Information Centre

Town Information Centre

The Town Information Centre, staffed entirely by local volunteers, carries a huge range of free information leaflets, maps and guides for events, activities and places to visit for all ages and tastes, plus local transport information, with a range of O.S. maps, postcards, and a small range of local walks booklets for sale. They have two useful noticeboards, one for holiday accommodation providers in and around Lostwithiel, and one for useful local information and services. Staffed by people with local knowledge, the Town Information Centre is the ideal starting point for visitors wishing to make the most of their stay in the area. If you’re planning to visit the Eden Project you can buy discount advance tickets here, to avoid queuing. If a TIC volunteer is not available, Reception staff will do their best to help with your queries.

From Easter through to October, Lostwithiel Museum organises weekly guided walks (meet Community Centre 11am, Thursdays) to help you get the most out of your visit to this historic town. If you’re just here for the day, there’s a useful street plan and Lostwithiel Guide available free at Reception.

Cafe at the Centre

The cafe is open for tea/coffee and homemade cakes when the Centre is open. The cafe is child friendly and we welcome coach parties (by prior arrangement)  for morning coffee and homemade biscuits or afternoon cream teas. Lunches can also be arranged if we know numbers in advance. High speed broadband connection and wi-fi connection make this a useful place for plugging in your laptop (available to cafe customers).

Lostwithiel Community Centre

Lostwithiel Community Centre is the heart of many of the activities that take place in this bustling town. From Beer and Cider festivals, Dollshouse and Teddy Bear fairs, to musical and theatrical events as well as private parties and weddings, the Centre offers a venue for all occasions. There is also a monthly Craft Fair showcasing local craftspeople and their work.

Centre rooms and facilities can be hired at a very reasonable rate, with special concessions for charitable organisations, and for local community groups. Badminton courts and racquets are available for hire when the main Hall is free. A large adjacent car park makes access easy and the centre also offers excellent wheelchair and disabled access and facilities.

The Centre hosts a busy programme of regular events including Cornwall's longest running monthly Antiques Fair and an award winning fortnightly Local Produce Market which attracts visitors from all over the county; it is also home to over twenty-five local groups from Toddlers right through to the Memory Café!

All groups and events at the Centre are listed in the monthly Lostwithiel Newsletter, which also carries news and details of many other events, activities and services throughout the town and surrounding area. It’s available free from the Centre, and other stockists in town and around, and also by email on request (see above).
