Award double for restoration work of Boconnoc

Boconnoc near Lostwithiel, CornwallOwners Anthony and Elizabeth Fortescue have received two acclaimed awards for the restoration work of Boconnoc House.

Two months ago the project was awarded the HHA / Sotheby’s Restoration Award 2012 (presented on Tuesday) and last night it was announced Boconnoc House was joint winner of the Restoration of a Georgian Country House, one of the categories of the Georgian Group Architectural Awards.

The Fortescues, who have dedicated the last 12 years to the project are delighted to receive these awards. Anthony Fortescue commented: ‘All the hard work from the dedicated workmen and others who have helped on the project over the past years has come together. The house is now the heart of the estate again, something I have dreamt of since I first laid my eyes on the house as a child.’
