  • Facebook message from Abi Channing March 30 at 3:16 PM  Hello all, I am the social prescriber for Fowey, Par, Middleway and Lostwithiel. During ‘normal’ times my role would be to help people get into work, training and to support mental health and well-being in the local communities.
    I would like to offer my support to those in need by being a port of contact to arrange essential deliveries of medication and food. Please be aware that I am not medically trained with regard to the virus, but more of a link worker to services that will help to keep people’s wellbeing up during the isolation period. If there is anything that you feel I could help with please do not hesitate to contact me via email to arrange a phone call. '

"NEW TRIAL OF CALL & COLLECT
We would like to invite our customers to join us in a new trial of calling us to order shop items, which would then be available for collection the next day.
Give us a call with the items you require and we will pick and pack your goods, contacting you once your order is ready, to take payment over the telephone.
You can then either call in yourself or send someone in to collect your order the next day.

UPDATE
We are happy to announce that with immediate effect we will no longer be closing between 12noon and 1pm.

We are back to our usual opening times of
9am - 1pm & 2.15pm - 6.30pm Monday to Thursday
9am - 1pm & 2.15pm - 5.30pm Fridays
9am - 1pm Saturdays


We are now happy to take payment by cash, however we would prefer card payments if possible please.

"During these uncertain times we would like to offer anyone in isolation a free prescription delivery service. If you would like your medication delivered please call us on 01208 872368 and we will deliver for you. If you know of someone who would benefit from this service but does not have access to Facebook please pass the message on thank you.

From a facebook post dated 29th April 2020:-

"We would just like to reassure and remind patients of the practice and people in our local community that we are on call 7 days a week to offer advice , guidance and triage if you have a dental emergency. Please call the practice as your first port of call and we will happily do what we can to help you, registered with us or not we are here to help. Tel: 01208 873290"

 

Following statement taken from their website on 26th March 2020:

 

Following guidelines set out by NHS England on the 25th March, the practice will now be temporarily closed as per national instruction https://www.england.nhs.uk/coronavirus/publication/preparedness-letters-for-dental-care/ for direct patient care, even in the event of an emergency. We would like to reassure you that we will continue to triage our patients via remote advice, analgesia and antimicrobial where indicated.

If you have a dental emergency, please contact the surgery during working hours on 01208 873290 or email enquiries@lostwithieldental.co.uk. Where a member of our team will speak to you and arrange a call back from a dentist. We will then give you advice and triage your dental problem. Patients who require emergency treatment after thorough triage will be referred to an urgent dental care service.

Patients CAN NOT be seen at dental practices that have not been designated as urgent dental care sites.

These measures are in place to break the cycle of spread of COVID 19 and to protect the vulnerable from asymptomatic carriers. We understand this worrying time for our patients. We are all working hard playing our part to help the NHS and the wider community.

Message below posted on facebook 24th March 2020:

"To all our Kernow Veterinary Group Clients

 

Following Government advice we will now be switching to urgent Veterinary cover only - this is for 2-3 weeks then under review

We will continue to be here for you and your pets

If you have an appointment booked with our surgery, we will be ringing you to defer any non urgent appointments where appropriate, some non urgent routine operations may get delayed

Please note our new Covid 19 protocol for attending the surgery for appointments:

🐾 For patients that are unwell a video/phone consultation can take place (charged for) this may then result in needing to come to the surgery for further treatment (no further consult charge)

🐾 Repeat prescription checks for long term medications can be done by video consultations

IF YOU DO NEED TO VISIT THE SURGERY IT'S IMPORTANT YOU FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES:

🐾 When you call the surgery to book your appointment the receptionist will ask a series of questions and then advise you to wait in your car upon arrival, please let them know the make, model & colour - once you arrive in the car park please call from your car to let us know you are here

🐾 The vet will come to the car, take a history, maintaining a 2m distance, the vet will then take your pet into the practice where a nurse will hold your pet while the vet examines them, whilst you remain in your car

🐾 Any medications will be brought out to you and the vet will return your pet to you

🐾 The vet will ask reception to call you to take payment over the phone by card - we will not be accepting any cash payments

🐾 We will be introducing a telemedicine service (via telephone/video call) soon, more details to follow soon - some post op checks can be done over the phone now with your clinic nurses
