Old Cornwall Society: Richard Carew

Richard Carew's ‘Survey of Cornwall’ was the second of the English County Histories to appear in print and was published in 1602.

Born at East Anthony in 1555, Carew was a translator and antiquary who served as High Sheriff of Cornwall and as MP for Saltash.

Carole Vivien will be giving a talk about Richard Carew, his life and work, at the October meeting of Lostwithiel Old Cornwall Society on Tuesday the 22nd at 7.30pm in the Church Hall.

  • Non-members are welcome to come along.

  • The talk will be followed by a short AGM.
