'Travels with my Embroidery Needle' - Lostwithiel Cancer Research event

Wednesday 19th September 2018, 10:00am to 4:30pm

Location: Church Rooms

Lostwithiel Cancer Research Committee presents 'Travels with my Embroidery Needle' with guest speaker Master Embroiderer Owen Davies about his time as an Embroiderer.

There will be a talk followed by examples of his work and questions in two sessions:

10.00am - 12.30pm
or
2.00pm - 4.30pm

Owen graduated from the Royal School of Needlework in 1994. He was then invited to work at Hampton Court Palace where he stayed working on commissions. He created the 'Embroidered Knot Garden' classes which were inspired by Hampton Court. In 2003 he was commissioned by the BBC to teach Hilary Kay how to embroider on the William Morris Brilliantly British series. He currently teaches traditional hand embroidery around the country and the world. You might have heard of his book 'The Embroidered Knot Garden'. He also consults for John Lewis partnership.

The event will be split into two sessions, so people can either book in for the morning or afternoon. Our committee will be providing tea, coffee and cake if required.

If you would like to book in for a session, please contact Lucy Jewels by telephone 07973 716435 or email lucymay71@btinternet.com
