Our February Screen 2 film will be A Man Called Ove...

... a feel good Swedish comedy with a big heart and plenty of dark humour. Ove (Rolf Lassgard) is lonely, grieving the loss of his wife and has just lost his job of 43 years. He’s determined to end it all, but through a series of blunders and coincidences, he gets to know his sunny neighbour Parvaneh (Bahar Pars), who breaks through his spiky exterior with delicious Persian home cooking. Through her friendship Ove is drawn back into his community and gradually begins to find his feet again.

“Holm’s well-judged adaptation of plays the black comedy just right. A strong contender for feel-good film of the year.” David Hughes Empire Online

"The emotional impact goes through the screen and hits the viewer's chest, something very few films are capable of." Jaime Fa de Lucas, Culturamas

Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for under 18s, and are available online now or in advance from Watts Trading or on the door if not already sold out.
