Words At Work

Phil Wisdom: putting words to work

If you have a story to tell, whether it’s a business card or a novel, it has to be perfect. That’s where I come in. I'm a journalist, writer, editor and proofreader. I’ve worked in news, publishing, public relations, internal communications. I know about writing for the web, for magazines and newspapers, for TV and radio. Whatever words you need, from turbocharging your CV to polishing your autobiography, from a university application to a high-impact news release, I can make you look great in print – any style of print, anywhere.

Business communications: How you get your message across is just as important as what you say. To project a professional image, details count. Everything that has your name on it, from a website to a van, is an advertisement for what you do and how you do it. Get it right, and you'll bring in new business without even trying. Get it wrong, and potential customers may wonder what else you don’t care about. Don’t give them an excuse not to use you.

Press and publicity: With more than 20 years' experience in print and online journalism, I know what local and national news organisations are looking for and how to get your story read by the people who matter most to you - your customers. If there's a story you want told, tell it to me first.

Publishing: If you’re an author, or aspire to be one, the quality of your product is paramount. Whether you’re aiming to land a publishing deal or going it alone with an e-book, nothing testifies more eloquently to your skill and professionalism than a perfect manuscript. I earn my living as a writer and a reader; I know what works. It's just you, me and a laptop, so as far as price goes, prepare to be pleasantly surprised. Now let’s get started.
