Young people

Lostwithiel Army Cadet Force

Sponsored by the Army, the ACF provides challenging, adventurous and character building training for young people of both sexes aged between 12 - 18.

Lostwithiel Guides

Lostwithiel Rainbow Guides

Rainbows are open to girls aged 5-7 (younger girls can be added to the waiting list). They are the youngest section of Girlguiding UK and work for badges, go on outings and have lots of fun.

Lostwithiel Preschool Playgroup & Toddlers

Meets: Lostwithiel Community Centre from Monday to Friday term-time between 9.30am and midday

Lostwithiel Preschool is for ages 2½ to 5 years and has 20 registered places. Also Baby & Toddler group on Thursdays 10am-12pm, term-time also in the Community Centre.

Oasis

Oasis Youth Centre has been running as a club and centre since 1999. Currently running 3 nights a week fully staffed by volunteers.

Floral Art Group

Lerryn Film Club

Lerryn Film Club is a Private Members' Club, whose main object is to promote the enjoyment of films by its members. Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18, on payment of the current subscription.

Screenings: Lerryn Memorial Hall on the third Saturday of each month from September to April.

Lost In Film

Lostwithiel's film society showing the best of contemporary films across a wide range of genres.

Lost Threads

Drop-in stitching and craft group open to all levels of ability. Want to know more about stitching, weaving, knitting, crochet, macramé, dressmaking, textiles? Got an unfinished project? Come along and discuss Lost Threads and see where it takes you - learn new skills or pass on skills you have.

Rag Rug Hookers

Recycle your old clothes into lovely rugs and wall-hangings. Free tuition and beginners welcome.

The popular Reader's Circle group meet in Lostiwthiel Library to discuss a set text.

Music Groups

Cantate Domino Liturgical Choir

We sing evensong at various churches throughout Cornwall and are available to sing at weddings and other church services. New members are welcome, some singing experience preferred but not essential.

Meets: St. Petroc's Church Centre, Bodmin, on the first and third Friday of each month at 6 p.m. and on the alternate weeks on Thursday mornings in the Oasis Room, Lostwithiel Community Centre at 10 a.m.

Lost In Song

Lost is Song is Lostwithiel's Community Choir. We're a group of singers of all ages and experience who meet every Thursday 7-8.30pm and sing all kinds of songs and rounds. New members always welcome, the sessions are £3.50 and occasionally we contribute to local events and perform at local fundraising concerts. The emphasis of our group is about singing for fun and we enjoy all the benefits of singing and harmonising and you don't have to be able to read music to take part.

Lostwithiel Folk Jam

Weekly (Tuesday) acoustic session at the King's Arms, Fore Street, Lostwithiel. Relaxed atmosphere, all traditional singers and musicians welcome. Contact Phil Wisdom 01208 873214.

 

Lostwithiel Music Appreciation Society

Music appreciation society to include all kinds of music: classical, jazz, folk, etc.

Madrigali

Madrigali have over 20 members and sing a variety of music including early music and part songs which are often forgotten and not heard today. If you enjoy singing please come and join us, previous singing and musical experience is not necessary, just enthusiasm!

Recorder Ensemble

A small group of recorder players who meet fortnightly in a private home to play a variety of ensemble recorder music. We have a whole range of recorders, from descant to Great C recorder and we aim to play for enjoyment and relaxation. We play music covering a whole range of musical styles from pop to baroque. Gardening Groups

Lostwithiel Garden Society

The Lostwithiel Garden Society holds monthly talks with guest speakers during the winter and  excursions to gardens during the summer. Their Annual Produce Show is held at the beginning of September in the Communty Centre.

Lostwithiel In Bloom

The town is looking really nice due to the excellent work and dedication of the Blooming Volunteers. One of the aims is to encourage new Blooming Volunteers to work alongside with the current people who give so much of their time and maybe would like some extra help.

Historical Groups

Lostwithiel Museum Association

Small fully registered museum with exhibits covering the social history of the ancient Stannary Town. Includes an 18th century fire engine and a good collection of old pictures and objects reflecting the town's past and a extensive reference section.

Sport Groups

Boconnoc Cricket Club

If you are looking to play competitive cricket, within an excellent team spirit, Boconnoc is the right club for you. Playing in Division 3 East or Division 6 East, players of all ages and abilities are welcome. The Club's ground is set inside the Boconnoc Estate just to the east of Lostwithiel.

Cross Martial Arts Club

Martial Arts Club based in Lostwithiel offering tuition in an exciting blend of ancient karate techniques and modern personal protection methods.

Whether you've had previous martial arts experience or not, if you enjoy a good workout and are up for a challenge then come and train with us!

Classes held on Wednesdays in  Lostwithiel Community Centre:-

6-11 years: 16.30 - 17.30
12-15 years: 17.30 - 18.30

Lostwithiel Football Club

Lostwithiel FC currently play in Duchy League Division 2. Their home games are played on the King George V playing field next to the Community Centre. Graham Rule is now player/manager for the 2009/10 season. Contact Form available on club website. The club also have a  Facebook page.

Lostwithiel Youth Football Club

Community Groups

Environment Group

The Environment Group was instrumental in the conservation of Shirehall Moor, an estuarine salt marsh rich in wildlife which is easily accessible from Coulson Park. The group runs a variety of events ranging from practical activities to talks and photography competitions. Projects for the next few months include identifying ways to significantly enhance the riverside areas in the town. Please contact for details about joining or upcoming events.

Lostwithiel Business Group

Lostwithiel Business Group (LBG) was formed in 2001 in response to the needs of all businesses in the town. LBG's objective is to originate and promote activities to benefit and advance the commercial interests of the town of Lostwithiel. This website was funded by LBG members.

Lostwithiel Community Association

Lostwithiel Community Centre opened in 1983 to provide facilities for the local community. It was built with much energy from the people of Lostwithiel and is run by local people. The Lostwithiel Community Association is a Registered Charity and relies on a small number of dedicated staff and voluntary helpers.

Lostwithiel Forum Development Trust Limited

The Forum has been active, in one shape or another, since 2001 with a mission to pursue the economic and social development of Lostwithiel and adjacent parishes.

Lostwithiel Twinning Association

The Twinning Association exists to bring closer the communities of Lostwithiel and its twin town of over 30 years, Pleyber Christ in Brittany. An annual exchange visit is organised with the host town alternating each year and visitors hosted by local families, and many social events held to raise funds. Rotary Club Of Lostiwthiel

Members of the Rotary Club of Lostwithiel all want to do a little bit of good, and to have a bit of fun whilst doing it. Some have lived in or around Lostwithiel all their lives, and others have relocated from other parts of the country. The diversity which this brings to our club both enlivens our fellowship and enhances our capability to make things happen.

Lerryn Womens Institute

Lerryn WI welcomes new members and invites you to “try before you buy”. We have a speaker every month apart from March and May which are, respectively, our annual and resolution meetings and visitors are always welcome to join us (including men).

Lerryn Area Minibus

Volunteer drivers take our community minibus from Lerryn via Lostwithiel to local towns, shops, garden centres and places of interest. Charges are very modest, and a phone call books you a place. In addition you can hire the bus for their own activities. View the L.A.M.A timetables
