Beer Festival raises £4000 for charity

Sunday 18th March 2012

The 9th Annual Charity Beer Festival organised by Lostwithiel Rotary club was held on 17th March, St Patrick's Day. The total raised for local charities was £4,000.

26 beers were available, some familiar and some not-so-familiar brews, both locally-made and from further afield.

Doors opened at 11am in time for festival goers to watch all three Six Nations Rugby matches on the large screen, as well as a selection of photos from last year's carnival week. England won their match against Ireland and came second in the Six Nations Championship.

The event was a huge success with nearly all the beers selling out.

Later in the evening live music was provided by local band, Cold Feet, followed by a disco until 11pm.

The Charity Beer Festival is organised by Lostwithiel Rotary Club each year and is a highlight in the town's calendar.
