Apple & Pumpkin Day at Community Centre

Saturday 22nd October 2011

Lostwithiel Community Centre held an apple and pumpkin day as part of LostFeast 2011, the celebration of food and drink in Lostwithiel held during the October half-term week.

Visitors were able to see a range of apple varieties, sample apple produce and bring their apples to be identified or pressed using an apple press on-site.

There were apple related stalls from Trewether Farm, Sandie's Cornish Kitchen, Kerensa Aval, Overcoombe Farm and Saints Preservers.

A pumpkin carving competition was held with prizes for two categories: best pumpkin carved by a family and best pumpkin carved by an individual. Pumpkins entered in the competition will be displayed at the Community Centre during LostFeast week.

Transition Lostwithiel held fruity games with apple bobbing and apple tree hoopla with toffee apple prizes. An amazing apple device which peeled, cored and sliced apples in one go proved very popular with children.
