Digitisation Roadshow - capturing memories for the future

Thursday 30th April 2015, 10:00am to 3:30pm

Location: Community Centre

The community interest company, Azook, is teaming up with Lostwithiel Museum to run a Digitisation Roadshow at Lostwithiel Community Centre on Thursday April 30th.

Azook has been funded by the Heritage lottery Fund to run these events at various locations in Cornwall. The results, which are being added to all the time, are available online at cornishmemory.com . This vast archive consists of photographs and cine films relating to Cornwall.

The aim is to share this local material with Lostwithiel and the surrounding parishes. Azook very much hope that the people of Lostwithiel will bring along photographs and films, which can be digitised for the archive of cornishmemory.com website. Material which is digitised will also be copied for the contributor.

The roadshow will also include an opportunity to capture oral memories of Lostwithiel and Cornwall by residents. These memories will be recorded by Ted Gundy, familiar to many of you as a BBC Radio Cornwall presenter and voice of ‘Cornwall’s Village of the Week’ series.

Azook are also able to offer a digitisation service for non-Cornwall subjects. This is done using ‘The Digitiser’ service. All charges for this are reinvested into the Heritage Project.

So, dig out those old photographs and films, then bring them along to the Community Centre on Thursday April 30th between 10am and 3.30pm
