Coach Holiday to London - U3A Roseland and District

Monday 27th September 2010
until Thursday 30th September 2010

Location: Pick up from Lostwithiel available

Members of The University of the Third Age Roseland and District invite all residents of Lostwithiel and district to join them in their coach holiday to London from Monday 27th to Thursday 30th September, with a pick-up point at St Austell, Lostwithiel, and Liskeard. You could see The Merry Wives of Windsor and/or Henry IV Part I at Shakespeare’s Globe for £35 per seat, in the gallery where the atmosphere is unbelievable. Everyone should see at least one play at the Globe and this opportunity affords you the comfort and relaxation of doing so in friendly company. Why not come along with a friend?

On one of the days you have the chance to visit the National Trust property of Chartwell (the home of Sir Winston Churchill) and Hever Castle (family home of Ann Boleyn). These are optional as you are free to make your own arrangements. You might like to visit the London Eye, the National Galleries, museums – or any of the other wonderful things that London can offer.

Staying at the 3* Clarendon Hotel for the third year at Blackheath you have a gorgeous view outside and are within easy walking distance of Greenwich. The cost of Truronian coach travel, excursions (not admission fees), bed, breakfast and dinner is £275 per person, sharing. A single room is £30 extra. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to join friendly people in this trip of a lifetime.

Booking forms are available from Shirley Davis on 01872 – 270030 or you could look at our website www.u3aroseland.org.uk and print a form. All we ask now is £60 deposit plus the cost of seats at the Globe, with the remainder being asked for in July. You do not need to be a member of U3A Roseland and District.

Nearer to home, you might like to know about U3A’s art and crafts exhibition and sale on Monday 19th April at Portscatho from 10.00 am to 12 noon. Stalls are available for anyone wishing to display, demonstrate or sell for £6.00 each. Doors open at 9.00 am for setting up. This is the fourth annual exhibition and sale and we are hoping for it to be bigger and better than last year.
