Lostwithiel Beer Festival

Saturday 13th March, 11:00am

Location: Community Centre

The Rotary Club of Lostwithiel has held a Beer Festival in Lostwithiel since 2004.

At 11am, the community centre will be transformed into a festival site hosting 20 different beers from around the region. Admission is £4 before 5:00pm, and £6 thereafter (the same as for 2008 and 2009). Re-entrance into the festival is allowed.

The price of all real ale beers has been kept to only £2 a pint (the same as it has been for over 5 years!) Organised by the Rotary Club of Lostwithiel, all proceeds will be donated to charity.

The Lostwithiel Community Association will provide tasty snack meals and soft drinks throughout the day, so you don't need to miss any of the action. Alternatively, re-entrance is allowed if you get your hand stamped, so why not make a day of it and visit the very many fine shops and eating houses in the town.

The Six Nations rugby will be screened on the television throughout the afternoon (2.30pm for Ireland vs Wales, 5pm for Scotland vs England).

There will be music and dancing from 8pm to 11pm. In the early evening there will be dancing to Paul King (founder member of Mungo Jerry and a talented singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist) and his Skeleton Crew.

Later on The Jackie Lynton Band will be Rockin' and Rollin'. Jack is one of life's natural comedians. He has invented jokes, published poems and written comedy scripts all his career. But when it all comes down to it, Jacks heart is in his music and he remains a dyed-in-the-wood rocker who simply can't stop gigging. Continually name checked by rock's elder statesmen as a crucial early influence, he has no trouble getting big name artists to endorse his occasional albums with guest appearances.

Having recently worked with Jackie Lynton on his CD 'Rockin In Cornwall, Rollin In Surrey', which also features Skeleton Crew stallwarts Colin Pattenden, Chris Bryant and Jeff Ward, Paul will probably want to make 'guest' appearances playing harmonica on the R&B songs in between the main acts.
